Marcus Jefferson, The Michigan Bulletin, was honored during Black History Month 2024 for 30 years of publishing minority news in Greater Lansing. Jefferson was recognized via resolution and tribute by the Lansing City Council and Mayor Andy Schor. (Video - Feb 12, 2024)
Since 1994, The Michigan Bulletin has provided an alternative news source to Lansing area residents. Publisher and general manager, Marcus Jefferson, has committed to preserving African-American journalism and news photography.
Under Jefferson’s dedicated leadership The MB continues to offer free, printed news despite dramatic changes in the print media market in Greater Lansing over the past three decades - even when many news outlets moved to online subscription based offerings.
